make resin jewellery project...

I started writing my next jewellery making project for Easy Craft Projects yesterday. There seems to be a lot of interest in making resin jewellery so we decided a resin jewellery project would be a good idea. I'm writing it as I make some resin pendants, taking photos at each stage.
The resin casting moulds are not easily available in the UK & there isn't as much choice as in the USA. I decided it would be sensible to see what moulds are easy to find in the UK by doing a google search on "resin moulds" so I could use one of my moulds that is similar. I was a very happy bunny when my GroovyCart shop came up on the first page of my searches!

I sinned!

popped into town yesterday to buy some more stationery - I buy my mailing bags, bubble wrap etc from the pound shop - helps keep the costs down and allows me to pass those savings onto my customers!

But.... it was the first day of the Monsoon sale - and I sinned - couldn't help myself...

However...

I couldn't sleep last night, got up at 5.30 & finished these earrings. I made the molds myself from pebbles and an abandoned snail shell I found in the garden. These are on silver plated earposts but I love the snails & am going to make some more with sterling silver earposts. They are on Just K Jewellery

resin jewellery etc...

yet again I seem to be neglecting this blog. It's been a bit manic recently - there aren't enough hours in the day. I've just taken delivery of some lovely new charms and have got some more beads and gemstones on order - hopefully they'll arrive before the postal strike on friday.

for these pendants I have allowed red and yellow resin to run into each other to create the marbled effect - on Just K Jewellery
in these two pendants I have embedded handmade resin dots and an image of a leaf in clear glassy resin - on Just K Jewellery
jelly tot sweets in clear resin - made up into handbag charms - on Mums Making Money
these earring are pink tinted resin - kitsch or what! - on MISI
lots of semi precious turquoise gemstone chips - on Mums Making Money

pretty rainbow coloured cube beads - on Just K Jewellery

stripey shell beads for this necklace and earrings set - on Just K Jewellery

Should anyone want to buy jewellery from different sites - just email me & I'll sort it out for you...

Funky Resin Jewellery

I made these "beads" a while ago and have eventually made them up into a necklace and earring set. I was inspired by a 1960's style dress I bought with block colurs of orange and pink...
they will be for sale on my GroovyCart shop very soon www.justkjewellery.co.uk

As you have to mix a batch of resin each time I've got some more to make up into jewellery - just not sure yet what to make...

oops!

yet again I seem to be neglecting this blog - I run out of hours every day.....

I must admit I've been enjoying the sunshine - I hate being indoors when the sun shines.

I was rummaging through some boxes of jewellery I made a few years ago when I first discovered jewellery making. What has really surprised me is that my designs in those days seem to be fashionable now - I was making Y shaped necklaces but they didn't sell - was told people wanted jewellery to wear every day & mine was too OTT. I've now added some of these pieces to JKJ - some pieces have been updated slightly.

more jewellery

I've been making more resin pieces that are going to become a necklace - eventually. I bought a funky 60's style dress that Nick is going to hate (hidden in the wardrobe at the mo). It has large block colours in white, orange and pink. It inspired me to make myself a pair of earrings to match and I got carried away - I actually made up too much orange and pink resin. The resin has just about finished curing so I should be able to make the necklace (and earring for me) later today.

In the meantime here's some new jewellery...

all the above are on GroovyCart - click here

this ring is on MISI - click here

and the bracelet below is on FOLKSY - the blue circles are handmade resin - click here
